Sustainable Learning

Eastwood Primary School & Deaf Facility is proud to be a 5-Star ResourceSmart School. Since launching our Sustainability Plan in 2016, we’ve embedded a range of whole-school practices that support environmental responsibility. Our students and wider community play an active role in helping Eastwood care for the planet.

Student Involvement:

  • Student Sustainability Leaders elected annually
  • Participation in School Tree Day, Clean Up Australia Day, and National Recycling Week
  • Sustainability integrated across the curriculum

Our Sustainability Initiatives:

  • Solar panels to reduce our energy footprint
  • Environment Monitors in each classroom to audit energy use and switch off lights and equipment
  • Paper and cardboard recycling in every classroom
  • Onsite composting and worm farms
  • Regular Nude Food Days to reduce waste
  • Water tanks for efficient irrigation
  • Energy-saving practices across the school

We aim to inspire and educate the next generation of sustainable leaders, empowering our students to make a positive impact on the world.
